Last Night and the End is Near
Last night I finished 4 cards, 16 through 19. Tonight I have 20 and 21 drying so I can sand and do the edges.
I have been using a Sharpie in gold but its performance has been less than stellar. All the markers I have tried are not performing well because of the slickness of the card stock. I have no problem with gel pens or colored pencils, so as last night as I was swearing at the Sharpie, I started wondering if the colored pencils would work for the edging and bordering. I had a piece of the paper from punching out the cards, so I tried it.
Metallic pencils lost their color while I was applying them. I didn't even have to smooth them out. The regular pencils retained their color on both sides nicely. I can always run a sharpie over them so the next suite will be edged and bordered using colored pencils. This is going to be fancy. I can use multiple colors and blend them! I am excited about this.
Next, the Wands. Wands are really air. There is nothing to base fire on except for the salamander on one card, the King and salamanders have traditionally been associated with kings. Why would you have a leafy staff associated with fire, the element that would destroy it. Swords are forged in fire. It is how they are hardened. You aren't playing air guitar here with a sword. So I have changed the cards back to their original meanings.
